The Koochiching County Courthouse was built between July of 1909 and 1910 and reflected the aspirations of the county’s settlers. Two additions, providing a new courtroom and judge’s chambers, were constructed in the 1950’s on the east and west sides of the building. The original courtroom was left empty. After years of deterioration, the County again desired to use the historic courtroom for County services. The project included the restoration of the courtroom and a master plan assessment for the entire courthouse.
